Hash Narrative:

The Guido Fawkes Run

This was the first run in the new and latest guidelines for Covid 19, which stated, amongst other things, that people could not leave the municipalities that they lived in and that restaurants had to close at 6.00 pm. As the hares had set the run in Mijas, that meant that only hashers who were resident in Mijas could attend. This naturally limited the attendance, enabling us keep within the limit of (or very close to it anyway) the new guideline of only 10 people meeting together.

It was an unsual starting place … Reng's restaurant car park, but in the circumstances it worked well. (We were obliged to go directly to the restaurant, with no time for a circle, after the run.)

The run was very good, with lots of wonderful view points. The hares managed to create two full trails ie. a good, long macho and as well a decent wimps route. A feature of the day was the number of runners … no less than eight. A very high proportion of the total!

By the time we returned the restaurant were asking us to come immediately. They needed to have finished and be tidying up by 5.30. It was 4.00, after a 1.30 start, so this left an hour and a half for the on on. Sitting out in the sunshine this worked out well with sufficient time for ordering, drinking, eating and then relaxing.

An impromptu scoring took place in the restraunt with the hares getting a creditable 9.3 for their run. Well done the hares!

After the on on Muzzlim invited us all back to his place for a drink, as a sort of after party after the party, so the hash was extended into the evening and we all ended up returning to our homes much closer to the time that we would have done had the run started at the normal time. Thank you Muzzlim!

Stop press …... it has been discovered that the hares for the coming week are not able to set their run, so these guys have already voluteered to do the upcoming run … two weeks in a row … thanks guys … a truly a “dream team!”

10 Nov 2020 -New, Latest Notice to All HashersOnce again … another day and another set of covid rulings. As you no doubt all aware by now, we are now not allowed to travel outside the boundaries of our municipalities. This week the run is set in Mijas and therefore only residents of Mijas will be able to attend. The ruling moves Mijas up into level 4, which only allows for 10 people to meet outdoors. However given the restriction on travelling, this should not be a problem.Reports inform me that full social distancing was enforced at all times last week and this will continue to apply this coming week, and no doubt for some time into the future.Your GM Kindergarden Cop

Scheduled Hares:
Muzzle’Im and From Behind

Hares: MUZZLE-IM & FROM BEHIND (The Dream Team)

SPECIAL SARS COVID-19 ANNOUNCEMENT:

Due to current Junta rules in legal force please note that this Run, being set before current rules came into force, is ONLY open to residents of the Municipality of Mijas. Should rules be amended to include Fuengirola with Mijas then Fuengirola Hashers are welcome to attend.

The Run has been set to account for the new rules and appropriate measures have been taken at the Circle and beer stop to ensure social distancing and limited groups of 6. If any Hasher feels at risk from such gathering then the Hares advise you NOT to attend.

OnOn:

Circle: El Rengo, La Ponderosa, Mijas

Navigation to the Circle: Google Maps link to the Circle.

Directions:
The start and finish of Sunday’s run will be at the popular Hasher’s restaurant, El Rengo, La Ponderosa, (Section of Union Street (7.24 km), 29651 Mijas T: 693 909 128).

On arrival please ensure you remain in groups of 10 and socially distanced with masks ON in the car park. Hares will ask if you wish to do the Macho or Whimp run. Runners will be sent off in appropriate group numbers. On completion please congregate in the car park in appropriate numbers, again wearing masks. There will be no official Circle. Those attending the OnOn will have reserved tables. Any GM and RA speeches and possible down downs will be at their observation as to the current social distancing rules.

From A7 get off at the McDonalds / Aqua Mijas Waterpark exit by Fuengirola. It is a double roundabout either side of the A7. You need to be on the Mijas side and take the exit that will send you to the ‘Parque Comercial Miramar’ (where Iceland and Decathalon are). Past this Comercial centre and take 1st right into Av. de Andalusia. Continue straight over 2nd roundabout. At 3rd roundabout come back on yourself to travel on the opposite side of the dual carriageway. Look for unmarked but obvious crossing over Rio Fuengirola. Turn immediate left when over the river onto dirt road Calle Tramo de Union. Follow HHH signs in.

Alternative route if coming down from Mijas is to cross the river on the A-7053 by the Restaurant Hoyo 19 and the Venta La Morena. Always keep left once across and follow rough road until you reach roundabout in Aguila.Take 3rd exit into Av. Aquila Coronada. Straight on at next roundabout. Just past the Cemetary on the right there is a turning circle, by the sewer works, to allow vehicles to cross over the river. Turn left but then turn immediately right onto dirt road Calle Tramo de Union. Follow HHH signs in.

Due to new closing times and popularity of this restaurant we need to confirm numbers by Friday AM latest. They have limited space due to social distancing and are only accepting table reservations (inside and out) on a 1st come 1st book basis. They do a great BBQ and vegetarian selection on Sundays so it is popular. Cost will be per menu.

IF YOU WISH TO ATTEND (TABLES OF 6 ARE BEING ARRANGED) PLEASE CONFIRM ATTENDANCE BY CLOSE OF PLAY THURSDAY!!
