Hash Narrative:

Narrative #1
The ever-changing restrictions resulted in several changes of plan and we wondered how the Hash would cope with overlapping rules – ‘group of 15’ on trail and ‘group of 6’ in a social gathering. Fortunately, Golden Cascade stepped in with her birthday party and several other hashers stayed away, leaving a small pack which worked perfectly. The RV was tucked away and even Search & Rescue would have had a hard job finding the Beer Stop.

Super Hare Just Say When, assisted by Kindergarten Cop (in charge of the machete) and Mummies Boy (in charge of driving the car) gave us a great trail, with macho and wimp options to suit all. The Beer Stop was sublime, hosted by a hermit from the Czech Republic in a re-claimed cottage, with solar energy and a vegetable garden (and the produce looked to be legal). We enjoyed soup, quiche, sausage rolls, mince pies and gluhwein – an early Xmas treat!

We were told the ‘in trail’ was easy and not that long, but this was ‘Just Say When’ land – we tackled face-high brambles in the dry river and climbed back up towards Voltocado, only to find we were two arroyos away from where we started, so more down and up and down and up…..except for Master Bates who was allowed to continue straight ahead and then chauffered back to the RV – without the aid of Google Maps (which had again failed to deliver MB to the start).

The RV was well secluded, and with only 13 hashers (including Ankle Biter hiding in the boot of her Dad’s car) we were able to spread out and have a safe circle without obviously breaching any of the new restrictions.

The GM called the Hares in and Sweet & Low supervised the scoring, which ended up as 9.5 (always pays to feed the troops!). There were two anniversarios: JerryCan on 225 and Kindergarten Cop on 615. Muzzle Im was awarded his 50th run mug, several runs late. That’s nothing, I had to wait until my 80th run before I got mine!

The GM had asked Salmonella Rushdie and JerryCan to stand-in as guest RAs, oblivious to the fact that the Arch Dickon, From Behind, was standing next to him. However, by the time the GM and Salmonella Rushdie had finished, there wasn’t much left to say! From Behind tried to punish some hashers for short-cutting, but he didn’t know who they were and they didn’t own up. The GM ‘punished’ Muzzle Im for having a birthday, but obviously the new restrictions don’t permit the baking of impromptu cakes.

Finally, Kindergarten Cop led a discussion about where to go for the OnOn. Several Hashers had thought that the different options listed on the website referred to different menus in the same place rather than totally different restaurants. After several minutes, somebody thought it would be a good idea to ask who was going. Kindergarten Cop put his hand up….but nobody else did!

Narrative#2
It was a sunny and hot day (24 degrees) with just a small breez.
We was only 12 abandoned Hashers so no problem with the Corona restrictions.
The Super hare Gwen had laid both the Walker track and the Macho track.
She had also bought beer and gluhwein, baked good pies, made two different kinds of soups that were VERY good, baked bread, bought a small cake for dessert, squeezed orange juice by hand and all this was very very good !
I do not understand how that woman manages to do all this alone.

We ate this halfway at Miroslavs house - a Czechoslovakian man who had moved into an abandoned house which he has started to prepare very nicely ! He grows vegetables out in the garden and makes improvements to the house, has no car or bicycle and always walks. A very interesting, intelligent and lively person who realy live after - "Less is more".

On the way back to the start, there were both Walkers and Runners lane.

You who were not with us really missed a wonderful day in fantastic weather, a very good and plentiful lunch and a run in a wonderful nature so the point for the run was 9,5 👍👣

Thanks again for everything you did for us Gwen - You are incredible 🙏🤗 -
We all love you 😍

Notice To All Hashers
Update 16:10 - 30 Oct 2020

Another day, another rule change!

So now that we are allowed up to 15 people in a group,

that means that the hash can pretty well revert to its normal format.

For the circles, especially the second one

we will operate the massive social distancing that we did before

It would also be of great help to the hares if you would register your attendance as early as possible.

Circle: Arroyo de los Pilones

Navigation to the Circle: Google Maps link to the Circle.
Directions: See below.

Sunday 1st October, between 2.00 and 2.30.

Hares:- Just Say When, Mummy's Boy & Kindergarten Kop

Come to the Ghostly Ruins of Valtocado on this Covid friendly run. Set off, in groups of 6 or less, as you arrive and choose between a proper Macho or gentler Walkers Trail.

Take a long relaxing stop at an idyllic cottage, hidden amongst the Eucalyptus trees where in addition to the normal beer and crisps, you may have, fresh orange juice and glue wine. Soup, sausage rolls and mince pies for those prepared to tip the waitress the odd 2/3 euros.

Return to the start via more Ghostly Ruins and depart as quietly as you arrived with no formal circle.

ON ON:- For those still hungry, make your way in groups of 6 or less to a local eaterie - choose Italian, Indian, Spanish, English...... The Hares can advise.

Directions:- Take the A387, Carretera de Coín between Mijas and the BP / Los Morenas roundabout. In the dip before (or after) Venta los Condes, take Camino de los Ríos into the Valtocado Urbanisation. Follow this down, bearing right where necessary, down past Dead Ends house (no.101) to the roundabout and follow the HHH signs.

Above all don't forget when it comes down to it, it's not the rules we are trying to avoid, it's the Virus so be sure to take all precautions that are now well established.
